The following letter was read by Elise Kessler Mottel before Tuesday night’s New Castle Town Board meeting, which was Barbara Gerrard’s last as New Castle Town Supervisor.
We’re delighted to join our neighbors in celebrating your remarkable tenure as town supervisor. Since joining the board 12 years ago, you have been a ubiquitous sight in our town, boosting local businesses, sharing new ideas and striving to make our community an even greater place to live.
We feel so fortunate to have benefited from your dedication to public service throughout all the years we’ve called Chappaqua our home. We’ll miss walking along side you in the Memorial Day Parade each May, but wish you much happiness and success in your endeavors. Congratulations on this happy occasion.
