Joseph Harry George, 84, Chappaqua Resident

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. — Chappaqua resident Joseph Harry George died Monday, May 9. He was 84.

A native of Danbury, Conn., George graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1954 and New York Law School in 1958. 

He was an associate editor of the New York Law Forum and a founding partner of Boeggeman, George & Jannace now known as Boeggeman, George & Corde in White Plains. 

He was a member of the Whippoorwill Club in Armonk and the PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. 

He is survived by his daughter, Devon George Eghdami; son-in-law, Bijan Eghdami; son, David George; daughter, Suzanne George; son-in-law, Nathan Tibbits; eight grandchildren; and longtime partner, Inge Stephens. 

He was predeceased by his wife, Marlene; and his son, Douglas.

The family will receive friends on from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John and St. Mary, 30 Poillon Drive, Chappaqua.  

Interment will be at St. Peter Cemetery in Danbury. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Church of St. John and Mary in Chappaqua.
