Bruce Gilchrist, Ex-New Castle Supervisor, 84

NEW CASTLE, N.Y. – Bruce Gilchrist, a former New Castle town supervisor, died in Glen Allen, Va. on Saturday, May 23. He was 84.

Gilchrist lived in New Castle from 1956 to 2008, serving as town supervisor from 1986 to 1989.

He was a president of the League of Women Voters, and was active in the Chappaqua Central School District

He was also a member of the New Castle Board of Assessment Review from 2000-2009, leaving that post when he and his wife, Bette, moved to Virginia.
