Anthony Argiro, 51, Owner Of Popular Northern Westchester Deli

Anthony Argiro, 51, of Mohegan Lake, the owner of A.S. Fine Foods gourmet Italian deli in Thornwood, died Saturday, April 15, surrounded by his family.

Argiro was born on July 8, 1965, to Cosmo and Nancy (Sorbara) Argiro in Brooklyn. 

Argio enjoyed his customers and many were like family.  In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, had a passion for cooking and was an avid Met's fan.

He is survived by his wife Jacqueline; his two children: Stephen and Kristina of Mohegan Lake; his parents Cosmo and Nancy Argiro; his two brothers Gino (Catherine) Argiro of Yorktown; and Michael (Maria) Argiro of Rockaway; his sister Marie (John) Castronovo of Manalapan, N.J., and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday April 19 and Thursday 20 at Cargain Funeral Homes Inc, 418 Route 6, Mahopac.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:15 a.m. Friday April 21, at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church 1377 E. Main St, Shrub Oak, with an entombment to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 101 Mill Street, Putnam Valley. 

In lieu of flowers, Anthony’s family requests donations to the ALS Association in his memory.
