What's Happening This Weekend in Chappaqua

Friday, May 4

Movie Screening: 7:30 p.m. The Chappaqua Library is holding a screening of the surfing documentary, "Riding Giants." The event is free and open to the public.

Leo Lionni Birthday Bash: 4 p.m. The Chappaqua Library is inviting children between the ages of 3 and 6 to celebrate the birthday of children's author Leo Lionni. Registration is necessary as space is limited.

North of Broadway Players Dinner Theatre: 5 p.m. New Castle Community Center. The Town of New Castle Senior Citizen Program is hosting a dinner and performance with the North of Broadway Players. Scenes will be presented from "Play It Again, Sam" by Woody Allen, "Trip to Bountiful" by Horton Foote, "Tender Offer" by Wendy Wasserstein, and more. Attendees have their choice of pasta primavera or chicken francese, with salad, bread, Italian cookies, coffee or tea. The cost of the event is $15 and those wishing to attend should call (914) 239-3909 to reserve a space.

Horace Greeley High School Spring Play: 8 p.m. Horace Greeley High School Auditorium. The Horace Greeley High School Theatre Company will perform a showing of its spring play.

Saturday, May 5

Chappaqua Farmers Market: 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Church of St. Mary the Virgin. 

Horace Greeley High School Spring Play: 8 p.m. Horace Greeley High School Auditorium. The Horace Greeley High School Theatre Company will perform a showing of its spring play.

Bridge and Scrabble Club: 10 a.m. While bridge play is not for beginners, all levels are welcome for Scrabble. The club meets weekly and is free and open to the public. Chappaqua Library. 

Sunday, May 6

Performance at Temple Beth El: 3 p.m. Temple Beth El of Northern Westchester. The Westchester Oratorio Society will present a 15th anniversary performance of Mendelssohn’s “Elijah."
