Informal Writing Workshop: 7:30 p.m. The Friends of the Chappaqua Library hosts this free event. It is open to the public, but registration is required. Chappaqua Library.

Tuesday, May 22

Chappaqua Central School District Board of Education meeting: 8:15 p.m. Horace Greeley High School commons.

New Castle Town Board meeting: 7:45 p.m. New Castle Town Hall, assembly room.

Wednesday, May 23

Author Talk: Stephanie Dale: 7:30 p.m. Author Stephanie Dale will speak about her new book, "My Pilgrim's Heart: A Woman's Journey Through Marriage and Other Foreign Lands." Dale is a gold medal winner of the 2011 American Independent Publisher's Book Award and former journalist in Australia. The event is free and open to the public. Chappaqua Library.

New Mommy Meet-Up: 11:30 a.m. Parents are invited to bring their newborns (0 to 6 months) to the World Cup Nursery School and Kindergarten Playground very Wednesday to get to know fellow World Cup parents. There is no charge for mothers and newborns, however, there will be a $10 fee for older siblings to attend. Thursday, May 24

Mah Jongg Club: 7 p.m. The Chappaqua Library's Mah Jongg club is for players at all levels. Instruction as well and coffee, tea and cookies will be provided. The library will provide cards but those attending are asked to bring boards, if possible.

Family Fun Day: 4:30 to 6 p.m. Chappaqua Children's Workshop, a nonprofit organization, will have programs elementary school (Grafflin and Roaring Brook and Westorchard) and middle school (Bell and Seven Bridges) students. Roaring Brook Elementary School.
