What to Do This Weekend In and Around Chappaqua

CHAPPAQUA, NY-- If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, grab some friends or family and get going. Here is a guide of happenings in and around Chappaqua.

 

On Friday, head over to Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center where the Farm Stand is open every Friday and Saturday throughout the fall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All of the produce is grown on the farm and without the use of pesticides, synthesized fertilizers or herbicides.

If you’re looking to stay in town, Chappaqua’s Farmer's Market is open on Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until noon around the Chappaqua Train Station. All produce is locally grown or produced and there is live entertainment as well as kids activities and even an market café perfect for lunch or dinner.

Also on Saturday, a free educational program will be held at Edith Macy Conference Center starting at 8:30 a.m. on epilepsy.

On Saturday, at 9 a.m. a furniture drive will be held at 468 Rosedale Ave. in White Plains at Furniture Sharehouse, Westchester's furniture bank.This event is organized and co-sponsored by Community Unitarian Church at White Plains as a social action community outreach project.

By donating your gently-used furniture, you help provide basic furnishings free of charge to families affected by homelessness, domestic violence, fires, floods and other personal disasters.

Items needed include:Mattresses and box springs (No stains; no king sizes)Sofas, Armchairs (No sleepers, no rips, stains, excessive fading)DressersTables and ChairsSide TablesTVs (up to 27”, no older than 10 yrs)Microwaves, Rugs, Lamps

If you’re looking for an outdoor activity great for the whole family, head over to the Hawk Watch at 10 a.m. at Lenoir Preserve on Dudley Street in Yonkers, on the lawn in front of the mansion to watch the migrating hawks.

 

If youre looking for something to with little kids, check out All Together Storytime at Chappaqua Library at 11 a.m.

If you’re looking to do something inside, the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville will be showing The Goonies at noon. Admission is $1.
