Two Injured In Crash That Snarls I-684 Traffic

SOUTHEAST, N.Y. -- Two drivers were injured in a Sunday afternoon accident on Interstate 684 in Putnam County involving two trucks and two cars, and resulted in snarled highway traffic for several hours, according to lohud.com.

State police are still investigating the accident, from which one of the tractor-trailer drivers had to be extricated then flown by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center. It happened about 1 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-684 near I-84 outside Brewster.

Northbound lanes were closed until 5 p.m. The other truck driver was taken to Danbury Hospital while the two car drivers refused medical attention, lohud.com says.
