PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Downtown Pleasantville became a television set Saturday when scenes for an NBC series pilot "The Blacklist" were shot along Washington Avenue and Manville Road.
Trailers and equipment trucks set up shop for the shoot late Friday night and into Saturday morning for an early-afternoon production.
"NBC will be filming scenes for its upcoming pilot series “The Blacklist” in various locations around the Village of Pleasantville, Saturday," Village Administrator Patricia Dwyer shared in a community memo Friday.
Actor James Spader is set to star as the male lead in the new series as a master spy and the world's most-wanted criminal, who will hand himself over to the FBI and give up all of his contacts on the condition that he must work exclusively with a rookie FBI agent played by Megan Boone.
The main characters were not on set Saturday when several scenes were shot. One scene depicted Boone's husband talking on the phone.
Manville Road and Washington Avenue had limited street parking through 4 p.m., Saturday, as crews filled the busy intersection in front of the Burns Film Center.
