The National Weather Service issued a high wind warning, starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday and carrying through until 4 a.m. Thursday. Gusts up to 60 mph are possible, which could bring down trees and power lines.
Rain and snow are expected midday, but with little accumulation, especially closer to the coastlines. However, coastal flooding and breaking waves of 3 to 6 feet may threaten the low-lying areas along Long Island Sound and the Hudson River.
Temperatures are likely to be highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s.
