WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A small, fast-moving weather system is expected to move through Westchester County on Thursday night into Friday and leave bitter cold temperatures in its wake.

Clouds will increase on Thursday with a high around freezing. Snow becomes more likely in the evening hours and overnight, but less than 1-2 inches of accumulation is expected. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Flurries and the occasional snow shower could linger in the area until 10 a.m. on Friday before gradually clearing. The high temperature will be around freezing, but is expected to drop into the 20s over the course of the day and well into the single digits overnight.

Chilly temperatures will linger on Saturday despite sunny skies with a high of 21.

Meteorologists are tracking another potential storm that could impact the region on Sunday night. Potential accumulations could be between 6-12 inches, but the storm's path is still uncertain and will greatly impact how much snow falls in the area.
