The budget totals $2,963,384, which is a spending increase of 2.1952 percent from the 2013-14 school year. The tax levy, which is the total amount of tax revenue for the budget, is $2,902,784 and would increase by 2.0229 percent. The levy increase stays within the state-mandated tax cap.

The estimated tax rates, which are per $1,000 of assessed value, would rise by $0.05 (1.88 percent) in New Castle and $0.63 (1.68 percent) in Mount Pleasant.

The budget vote will be coupled with voting for one library board seat. The three candidates are Thomas Duggan, Nicole Turano and Erica Gottesman. Video of a League of Women candidates forum can be found here.

The library, which is tied to the Chappaqua school district election, has its votes on from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Horace Greeley High School's gym.
