MT. KISCO, N.Y. New Castle Police Wednesday said the death of Anne Boylan, who was found Tuesday in the woods behind her home, appeared to be accidental.
Boylan, 55, was reported missing by a family member Monday and was located Tuesday behind her home on Carol Drive. Boylans body was discovered with the help of a K-9 unit at the bottom of a ravine. While the investigation is ongoing, police believe Boylans death to be accidental.
It appears that she had fallen down a steep ravine and was unable to get out, Sgt. James Wilson said in a statement.
New Castle police were assisted in their search by the Westchester Department of Public Safety and members of Westchester County Technical Rescue team, who repelled down the ravine.
Nothing suspicious was reported by the Westchester County Medical Examiners Office, which performed an autopsy on Wednesday. A toxicology report is still pending.
