Obama Visit To NYC Includes 'Hamilton,' Waldorf Snub, Hamptons Headaches

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- President Barack Obama will fly into New York City for some weekend fundraising and a Broadway show this weekend, but his arrival and subsequent stay in the Big Apple has some issues, according to multiple reports.

Obama is scheduled to arrive at JFK International Airport at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Friday, meaning all private aircraft will be grounded out of the airport until he leaves on Saturday. The air traffic restrictions could create issues for the city's elite looking to catch a helicopter out to the Hamptons for the weekend, according to the New York Post

Once he's arrived, Obama will break with tradition by not staying at the Waldorf Astoria, something Chief Executives have been doing since Herbert Hoover. The reason for the change in accommodations is reportedly due to fear that the room will be bugged as the hotel is owned by a Chinese company, the Daily Mail said

The President will take in a matinee of the show "Hamilton" before heading back to Washington on Saturday.
