This flu season is one of the worst on record and a large number of people in the Westchester area have already been afflicted with flu-like symptoms, according to the hospital.

Getting the flu vaccine is one of the best ways to combat the epidemic, the Mount Kisco hospital advises.

To protect the surrounding community from this year's virulent flu, Northern Westchester Hospital is providing vaccines next week at two locations for adult patients 18 years of age and older.

A limited supply is available and will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis for a fee of $20.

In Chappaqua, flu shots will be available on Jan. 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. at NWH at Chappaqua Crossing, located at 480 Bedford Road.

In Yorktown, residents can get flu shots on Jan. 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the NWH Yorktown Imaging Center, located at 1940 Commerce St. in Yorktown Heights. The imaging center recently added new hours for patients and is now open until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
