The adopted budget is an amended version of the town's preliminary budget, which is available here.

The approved budget, according to the board's voting resolution, has a tax levy of more than $15.3 million for the general and highway funds, along with a cut in the annual per-dwelling unit cost to $440 for homes in the Solid Waste District. However, the figure will be $264 for condominiums that will continue to receive twice-per-week garbage collection.

Earlier this year, the Town Board approved a new refuse contract that will preserve once-per-week garbage collection for the majority of homes. It will also add single-stream recycling.

Councilman Jason Chapin, who praised the overall town budget, expressed some concern about increasing spending for items such as the Beautification Advisory Board and town special projects. He called for monitoring how the funds the spent and argued there should not be a feeling of being obliged to spend all of it.

The new budget takes effect on Jan. 1, 2015 and coincides with the calendar year.
