The New Castle recreation department offers summer activities for residents of all ages and interests.
For pre-school and young children, classes are offered at the New Castle Community Center like Mommy & Me class, Mini Movers, Time Together, Summer Fun, Little Campers, Let's Cook in the Afternoon and Sports Games. The ages range from 1 month olds to five year old children in the classes. The class fees range from $55 for a Mommy & Me class to $115 for a Little Campers course.
For adults, New Castle recreation offers a wide variety of fitness classes for ages and fitness levels like Aerobics, Total Body Fitness, Stretching and Strengthening, Step N Pump, Daytime Yoga, Cardio, Core and More, Cardio Tone and Yogalates.
Classes are offered from June 27 to August 12 at the Community Center at 10 Senter Street in Chappaqua. Registration for classes began May 16 and is conducted at the Recreation Office, by mail, drop-box or online .
The New Castle Parks and Recreation Department also offers a Summer Sounds Concert Series where every Wednesday in July, free concerts are held 7 p.m. at Recreation Field next to the New Castle Town Hall.
This year, the Chappaqua Orchestra starts the series with an evening of classical Beethoven July 6. The following week, Elvis resurrects for a A night with the King, featuring Tony Ligouri Jr.
Wednesday, July 20, Parrotbeach, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band will perform Island Flavor: Tribute to Jimmy Buffett. New York Minute will conclude the series July 27 with a night of live Motown, Pop and R&B music.
