New Castle Police Charge Woman with Forging Checks

NEW CASTLE, N.Y. - New Castle police arrested and charged a 43-year-old Cross River woman at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday after allegedly forging the signature of her New Castle employer. 

Rosario Acosta, a house-cleaner at an undisclosed New Castle residence, is accused of stealing checks from the New Castle residence where she worked and forging the homeowner's signature. She would reportedly cash the checks or deposit them.

According to police, Acosta is being charged with second-degree forgery and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Both charges are felonies.

Acosta was was arranged at New Castle Justice Court and released. She is scheduled to return to court at 7:30 p.m on Thursday.
