CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. - The New Castle Community Center on Senter Street has opened for residents to charge phones, use the Internet and to warm up, said Supervisor Susan Carpenter.
If there is a need, the center can be kept open as a shelter for anyone unable to stay in their homes, Carpenter said. The library was unable to provide shelter this year because it lost electricity.
"The schools have assured us they are willing to assist as soon as their power is restored," Carpenter said. "As other resources are available, we will make that information available."
