Initially, installation for 10 charging station parking spots were planned for the Chappaqua train station, next to the taxi shack. However, that number has now been lowered to three, New Castle Town Administrator Penny Paderewski said in a Tuesday night work session.

The Chappaqua charging stations are part of New York State’s original goal to set up 325 electric-vehicle charging stations across the state. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the state’s decision to award $4.4 million to 10 companies and municipalities for the project in June 2012.
