Bellizzi, a family-friendly Italian eatery that has been on the town’s Main Street for 24 years, had hoped to start construction on “Exit 4 Food Hall” in June. But that was taken off the menu when, the town decided that the conversion was a “change of use” and 19 new parking spaces had to be created, Bellizzi’s owners told the blog.
A Zoning Board meeting on the restaurant’s request for a parking variance has been set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, at Town Hall, 104 Main St., Mount Kisco.
According to a report in Daily Voice this spring, Bellizzi owner Isidoro "Isi" Albanese said he hoped to convert the 4,000-square-foot restaurant into an international food court with eight or nine other vendors. The hall was to contain seating for 85 guests, Albanese said.
Bellizzi told the blog that it is asking patrons and the public to turn up to support the plan. Without the necessary approvals, it said, the restaurant’s business may suffer.
