In addition, GE’s SenoClaire system uses the lowest dose radiation in the industry with images acquired using a “step-and-shoot” method removing potential motion while increasing resolution at the same time.
The technology uses a three-dimensional imaging approach with results that are proven superior to traditional mammography. In addition, GE’s SenoClaire system uses the lowest dose in the industry providing the highest level of patient care possible.
Due to its low dose and superior clinical accuracy, Tomosynthesis replaces a traditional 2-D digital mammography exam. The technique is designed to separate the tissues by acquiring very thin cross-sectional images of the breast.
The images are then reconstructed with computer analysis resulting in superior image quality while reducing the overlapping of structures – typically the limiting factor in standard 2-D mammography. The final results demonstrate high resolution visualization of tiny structures previously very difficult to image and interpret using traditional mammography methods.
“We are pleased to be working with GE Healthcare to provide women with the most precise screening tool available to help detect breast cancer” said John Basile, administrative director of radiology at the Mount Kisco Medical Group.
After the exam, MKMG board certified radiologists then interpret and sit individually with every patient to discuss results and answer any questions.
