MILLWOOD, N.Y. - After months of planning, New Castle Town Administrator Penny Paderewski has revealed the final designs for brand new signs that will be placed throughout Millwood.
Two smaller signs are tentatively scheduled to be hung at the intersection of Shingle House Road and Route 100, and at the corner of Station Road near the old train station. A larger community events board will be placed in front of A&P.
"The Millwood Task Force appreciates the cooperation of the town with these ideas that we really only came up with maybe nine months ago," said Millwood Task Force member Michael Stern. "(Town Planner) David Brito's been a real assett to the town."
The community events board will have three sliding slots available for the promotion of events or organizations. Paderewski said she was so impressed with the design, that it may be duplicated for use in Chappaqua's triangle near Route 120.
Due to an existing post at Shingle House Road, one of the smaller signs may be hung soon. The other signs, however, will likely not be seen until the spring. Paderewski said the ground is too cold to get a proper footing.
