The train line is on its way to topping last year's record of 64.7 million riders, making it the second busiest rail line in the country, with the Long Island Rail Road being the busiest, said lohud.com
During the first five months of the year, total ridership on the Metro-North has increased 1.3 percent, or by 3,000 additional riders a day, lohud.com said.
Although the New Haven line also has seen a jump in ridership, officials said the busiest station is White Plains, from which 10,000 trips are taken each weekday, the story said. White Plains is followed by Scarsdale, Hartsdale and Bronxville, added lohud.com.
