Desires by Mikolay, a classic and designer jewelry and retail store, is undergoing major renovations this week. Desires, owned by Tara and Scott Mikolay, is expanding their space at 55 King Street from approximately 1,000 feet to 3,000 feet.
"Scott and Tara opened the store in 2004 and they've out-grown this location," said Sarah David, manager at Desires by Mikolay. "Our clientele has grown so large that we need to expand our space so customers can be more comfortable in the store."
Desires by Mikolay is overtaking what was once Don Emilio's mexican restaurant to expand their line of jewelry and merchandise.
"We will expand our line of men's watches and we're added an area in the center of the store for bridal and baby registry's," David said. "We'll have handcut crystal pieces from France and sterling silver picture frames as well."
Desires hopes to reopen in its new location next to the Chappaqua Wine and Spirit Co. Tuesday while renovations to their old space are completed. The entire 3,000 foot space should be finished by October.
"Basically everything that we had in the old store, we will have more of in the new one," David said. "We'll added a larger personal section where you can purchase engraved items and enlarge our repair shop in back too."
