Mailbox Allegedly Run Over on Haights Cross Road

At approximately 11:42 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to 48 Haights Cross Rd. on a report that a mailbox had been destroyed.

New Castle Police said it appears the mailbox was run over after a vehicle drove on the grass.

Due to the damage of the mailbox being over $250, the incident is being treated as a third-degree felony criminal mischief.

No arrest has been made and the case is under further investigation.

In other police blotter news:

Police are investigating a possible burglary at 5 Pamela Pl. in Millwood. According to the report, officers first responded to the property at 1:09 p.m. on October 4.

Police said that while no items were reported as stolen, there were allegedly signs of forced entry in the rear of the house.

The incident is under investigation.
