Investigation Continues Into Saw Mill Parkway Crash

On Sunday night around 6:30 p.m., Westchester County Police were called to the scene of an accident on the Saw Mill River Parkway near Green Lane in Bedford.

According to Westchester County Police's Public Information spokesperson, Kieran O'Leary, a pick-up truck traveling southbound on the Saw Mill River Parkway crossed the median and struck an SUV traveling northbound head-on.

The Saw Mill River Parkway was closed from exit 37 up to Green Lane in Bedford. The Bedford Fire Department was called to the scene to extract the driver of the SUV from her vehicle. Both drivers were transported to Northern Westchester Hospital to treat injuries.

What caused the driver of the pick-up truck, Satime Muiqi, 17, of Bedford Hills, to cross the median is still unknown. Muriqi sustained minor injuries and is said to be in stable condition.

The driver of the SUV, Alice Leong, 54, of the Bronx, suffered several serious injuries, but is said to be in stable condition.

Westchester County Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
