A cold front passing through the area accompanied by strong, gusty winds resulted in a significant number of power outages Friday afternoon in Northern Westchester and Putnam.
A total of 951 outages in Northern Westchester were reported just before 3 p.m., with 947 in the Somers area, according to NYSEG.
In Putnam, 541 outages were reported at the same time, NYSEG said. A total of 413 were in Carmel and the rest in Southeast.
