MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Former New Castle Town Administrator Gennaro Faiella has been picked to be Mount Kisco's Interim Village Manager.

Faiella's appointment is scheduled for the Village Board of Trustees' Monday meeting. He is identified in the board's meeting packet material.

Faiella, knick named "Jerry," retired from New Castle in late 2010 after having worked there for 13 years, according to information from New Castle Town Board minutes and the trustees' packet material.

Included in the village board's meeting packet is a New York State pension waiver form, which also includes a reason for why he was selected.

The rationale for choosing Faiella, who lives in Ossining, is due to his experience.

In the form, the following statement is given: "Mr. Faiella not only possesses a wealth of experience, but also has a first hand knowledge of the Village of Mount Kisco by virtue of his work over the years in the local area."

Faiella's working relationship with Mount Kisco officials, along with shared services for Northern Westchester municipalities, is also cited.

Faiella's career also includes having worked in administrative posts in the Village of Ossining and the Village of Tarrytown, according to a biographical overview in the form.

If appointed, Faiella would succeed James Palmer, who is leaving to become Village Administrator in Bronxville.

It is not clear what form the search for a permanent Mount Kisco Village Manager will take.
