The town is exploring applying for a $100,000 Clean Energy Community Grant and/or obtaining a $90,000 rebate from New York State Energy Research and Development Agency toward buying an 18 - to 22-seat passenger shuttle bus or trolley, according to The Examiner. A bus would cost $250,000 while a trolley would be $280,000 according to The Examiner.

The town board was skeptical of whether the idea would work since the electric vehicle would need to be charged for eight hours for every 75 to 90 minutes of travel, thus limiting the usage time, according to The Examiner.
