Drenching Thunderstorms Headed To Chappaqua

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A cold front moving through the area will bring some relief from the heat, but it is expected to be accompanied by heavy, drenching thunderstorms Thursday.

Thursday will be another hot and humid day with a high temperature near 88 under cloudy skies.

Thunderstorms are expected to push their way from the west, mainly after 3 p.m., according to The National Weather Service. Some of the storms could produce drenching rain and gusty winds. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

The chance for storms continues through 1 a.m. Friday, before skies clear.

Friday will be a sunny day with a high between 88 and 90 degrees.
