Downtown Chappaqua Improvements Get Scaled Back

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Downtown Chappaqua will still be getting improved infrastructure, though it will be less than originally thought.

The New Castle Town Board awarded an $11.6 million bid for the project at Tuesday's town board meeting after eliminating $2 million worth of improvements. The board voted 3-2 to award the project to ELQ Industries.

The 18-month project will replace aging water and sewer mains and is set to begin this summer. The town will bond the $11.6 milion.
