Dr. Robert Small, a Briarcliff Manor resident and a respected board-certified orthopedic surgeon, has assumed the role of president of the medical and dental staff at White Plains Hospital, a two-year position which he will hold until the end of 2017.
Dr. Benjamin Marano, of Chappaqua, a board-certified gastroenterologist specializing in the treatment of all digestive diseases including colon cancer, polyps, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), GERD and ulcer disease, assumed the role of vice president.
Dr. Paul Pechman, of Scarsdale, board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease medicine, critical care and geriatric medicine, assumed the position of secretary and treasurer.
Drs. Phillip Huh, Richard Lipset, Tina Neade and Joseph Tartaglia, were elected delegates-at-large. Huh is board-certified in internal medicine; Lipset is a radiologist with White Plains Radiology Associates, PC; Neade is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology; and Tartaglia is in private practice and is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Laura Mechanic, of Hastings-on-Hudson, was appointed the hospital’s chief of allergy. She is board-certified as an allergist/immunologist.
Dr. Mark Greenberg, of Scarsdale, who serves as director of the White Plains Hospital Joan and Alan Herfort, M.D., Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, was appointed chief of interventional cardiology.
Dr. Richard Ellsasser, of New York, director of psychiatry at White Plains Hospital, was appointed chief of behavioral health.
Dr. Sara Sadan, of New Rochelle, has been named chief of hematology oncology.
Dr. Todd Weiser, of Chappaqua, has been appointed section chief of cardiothoracic surgery. The role of chief of pediatric surgery has been taken on by Steven Borenstein, M.D., of White Plains, a board-certified pediatric surgeon.
Dr. Cindee Ivker, of Briarcliff Manor, a board-certified pediatric physician, is now the chief of pediatrics.
Dr. Rafael Torres, of New York, director of emergency medicine at White Plains Hospital, has also been appointed the chief of emergency medicine.
