According to the districts report card reviewed by the Board of Education last week, the Chappaqua Central School District is ranked number two out of forty in Westchester County.
During July of last year, New York State raised the bar on the cut scores it used for grades three through eight in Math and English, based on research that analyzed how grades three through eight testing related to the National Assessment of Educational Progress , how the states eighth grade math and English scores related to the Regents exams, how the regents scores related to SAT scores and finally how SAT scores related to students performance in college.
After looking at the data under the new cut scores, it was made apparent Chappaqua Central School District had done well, ranking number two in the county. Seventy nine percent of the district's students in grades three through eight are at or above grade level in English and eighty five percent of them are at or above grade level in Math.
At the high school level, the report stated ninety seven percent of students scored at or above the proficiency standard in English, ninety eight percent scored at or above proficiency standard in Math and a ninety nine percent graduation rate was reported this groups class.
