Clubs Throughout Westchester Offer Hot Showers

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – If you are still without power and need a hot shower, Club Fit in Briarcliff and New York Sports Club are offering their facilities to help you deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Hot showers are available at New York Sports Club and Club Fit locations across the county.

“We know this has been a long week and that something as simple as a hot shower goes a long way,” County Executive Robert Astorino said. “We are reaching out to other area health clubs, colleges, universities and other sports and recreational facilities to answer the call and help out our neighbors in need.”

New York Sports Club has facilities in Carmel, Croton, Dobbs Ferry, Hartsdale, Mamaroneck, New Rochelle, Scarsdale, Somers and White Plains and is open to adults 18 and older.

Club Fit, where Astorino made the announcement Friday, has locations in Briarcliff Manor and Jefferson Valley.

To use these facilities’ showers, bring an ID and your own towels and call in advance to make sure power and hot water are still available.
