Chappaqua's Rocky Hills Private Gardens Will No Longer Become County Park

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- The Westchester County Board of Acquisition and Contract unanimously voted to terminate an agreement to assume ownership of Rocky Hills, a well-known private garden in Chappaqua, according to LoHud.com.

The private garden was set to be donated to the county by current owner Henriette Suhr along with $500,000 to help defray the cost of maintenance. The board agreed, however, that the cost of maintaining the garden as a county green space was too much of a financial burden, LoHud.com reported.
