CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. - Author and Chappaqua resident Kate Stone Lombardi will tackle the taboo of mothers' babying their boys on March 15 with the release of her new book, "The Mama's Boy Myth: Why Keeping Them Close Makes Them Stronger."
"Mama's Boy" explores the connection mothers have with their sons and the notion that parents must push their little boys away rather than baby them with cuddling and comforting, according to the book's description on Amazon .
Lombardi, a regular contributor to The New York Times for 21 years, argues against the stereotypes that males cannot be "manly" while being sensitive and emotionally intelligent.
Along with making the national rounds to promote her book, Lombardi will discuss "Mama's Boy" at the Chappaqua Library on March 20 at 7:30 p.m.
