Chappaqua Strawberry Festival a Fun-Filled Event

The 74th Annual Chappaqua Strawberry Festival held at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin is an event filled with fun and entertainment. The festival offers shopping, food, and fun for children of all ages as well as live music.

On the lower lawn, there are dozens of vendors selling jewelry, artwork, children’s clothing, women’s handbags and children’s toys.

There is live music from St. Mary’s own bluegrass Stump Jumpers outdoors, along with musicians playing relaxing chamber music in the Café.

Inside the Café, there are more vintage jewelry vendors as well as heart-healthy items like tuna pita pockets, strawberry smoothies, and chocolate-dipped strawberries. In addition, there is a wide variety of strawberry-themed goodies, like the famous St. Mary’s strawberry shortcake, provided by Susan Lawrence on Greeley Avenue in Chappaqua.

The Children’s Carnival offers fun games and entertainment for children of all ages. There are activities like Football Throw, Batter Up!, The Lollipop Tree, Mega Mini Golf and face painting.

There are also raffles and a food court which offers burgers, hot dogs, corn and soda.

Money earned at the festival supports several local organizations that benefit people in need. These include the Interfaith Emergency Food Pantry, A-HOME, The Children’s Center at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, Hope’s Door (formerly Northern Westchester Shelter), Open Door Family Medical Centers, and Neighbors Link in Mt. Kisco, among others.
