CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. – New Castle Town Administrator Penny Paderewski gave the following update regarding the winter storm dubbed "Nemo" on Saturday morning:

“Roads remain dangerous. Snow was heavy and is more difficult to remove, which means it is taking the Highway Dept. longer to clear. We had approx. one foot of snow but it some areas it is more because of drifting. We are strongly encouraging residents to stay home this morning. Road conditions will improve this afternoon but we expect icing conditions this evening. Use caution and be safe.”

New Castle has been sending updates throughout the storm using their new CodeRED alert system. If you have not yet subscribed, you can do so on the town website.
