Chappaqua Parking Lot Construction Starts Monday

Construction on the public parking lot adjacent to Robert Bell Middle School, will begin June 13 and is expected to be complete by Labor Day in September.  The actual construction will also affect the area behind the Community Center and will stretch to Bank of America on Woodburn Avenue,

The lot will be redesigned to add more parking spots as well as to improve the accessibility of those spaces for customers. The changes hope to improve traffic flow to make it easier to exit the parking lot. The parking lot construction will also help to improve sanitation and drainage systems underneath parked cars.

Lighting will be installed in a center median in the lot, similar to lighting found at the Chappaqua Train Station to create a well-lit atmosphere for shoppers day and night.

In addition, new drainage and sanitary sewage systems will be placed underground, while the asphalt is repaved and restriped above.

The parking lot will have 70 spots available to customers throughout the course of the project, although officials say certain  areas will be limited.
