CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. - The Chappaqua Public Library is one of many places around town getting into the Halloween spirit. Along with putting up decorations, the library has set up Halloween Havoc, a movie rental section with a frightening theme, though there are also more family-friendly flicks for children.
The library announced, however, that is has canceled its Halloween-themed Mark Twain impersonation contest, which was scheduled to take place Sunday.
Still scheduled for that day, though, is Chappaquas annual Ragamuffin Parade and carnival. The carnival, which begins at 12:30 p.m. at the Chappaqua train station, will feature music, a bounce castle, kiddie pillar, obstacle course, racing cars, a scavenger hunt booth and the Korth & Shannahan painting station.
Following the carnival, at 3:30 p.m., families are invited to march in the parade and show off their costumes. Attending the event will be Chappaqua Fire Department and Ambulance Corp, The Blue Crew Marching Band, the Music Makers and the Dixie Dandies Marching Band.
