CHAPPAQUA, N. Y. - Bird lovers flocked to Town Hall on Saturday to pick up seed at the Saw Mill River Audubons annual sale.
The non-profit organization, which is dedicated to the protection of birds and other wildlife, orders seed in bulk once a year. The sale is one of the biggest moneymakers for the organization.
Types of seed sold at the event are: sunflower seed; mixed seed; thistle; cracked corn; millet, milo; peanuts hearts, safflower seed and suet.
While some seed can be purchased at the event, most of the sales were pre-ordered.
The Saw Mill River Audubon will be selling more seed in the Town Hall parking lot on Sunday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
