Car Thefts From New Castle Houses

NEW CASTLE, N.Y. - Three separate vehicle thefts have been reported to New Castle Police in the past two weeks, according to Chief Charles Ferry. He said the vehicles were stolen from New Castle driveways and garages, and that all the incidents took place overnight.

"What we've been getting is high end cars," said Ferry, who said that all the thefts have been crimes of opportunity. "It's when people have left the electronic access keys in the vehicles."

Due to an ongoing investigation into the thefts, no further information was made available. Ferry, however, had advice for residents worried about the same thing happening to them. "Secure the vehicles and take those electronic access controls out of the vehicle," he said.

If residents have any information or questions regarding the thefts, contact the Detective Division at (914) 238-1566.
