Busy Weekend for New Castle Police Department

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y.—Police in New Castle responded to an assault and a burglary on Thursday, August 18 and Friday, August 19, respectively.

The incident took place at Rocky’s Deli on 235 Saw Mill River Road in Millwood at around 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning. A group of teens got into a fight and two of them suffered minor injuries. Police are unsure exactly how many people were involved.

The case is currently under investigation.

Around 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, a housekeeper at 18 Ivy Hill Road in Chappaqua came to clean the home and found it had been broken into. That case is also under investigation by the New Castle Police.

At 1:15 p.m. on August 16, criminal mischief was reported on 15 Spring Valley Road in Ossining after two road signs were damaged at Sunshine Children’s Home, totaling $1,000 in damage. No suspects were found.

At 3:00 a.m. on August 17, criminal mischief was reported on 163 Harriman Road in Mount Kisco after a vehicle’s door window was purposely shot out by a BB or pellet gun. No suspects have been found.

At 11:30 p.m. on August 20, criminal mischief was reported on 7 Stony Hollow Road in Chappaqua after a mailbox was damaged.

At 10:30 a.m. on August 21, there was another criminal mischief reported, concerning a damaged mailbox at 14 Trails End in Chappaqua.
