- The New Castle Town Board adopted another step for Summit/Greenfield’s grocery store-retail proposal at Chappaqua Crossing despite three more hours of outcry in a special public meeting.
- Western Connecticut State University professor Paul Hines, 73, of Danbury, was arrested in New York state and accused of engaging in a sex act with a Somers minor .
- At a public forum held before a packed house at Port Chester Middle School, hundreds of Westchester County parents and educators expressed concern and outrage to New York Education Commissioner John King over the implementation of the Common Core .
- The national grassroots organization, Ready for Hillary, has announced the support of California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom , for the potential presidential bid of former first lady, U.S. senator and U.S. secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton of Chappaqua.
