Update, 4 p.m. Tuesday
An estimated 5,122 customers in New Castle were without power at 4 p.m. Tuesday, according to Con Edison reports.
NEW CASTLE, N.Y. – Hurricane Sandy knocked out power for more than 4,500 customers in New Castle Tuesday morning, according to Con Edison reports
An estimated 4,632 out of 6,574 Con Ed customers in New Castle were without power 9 a.m. Tuesday. It’s unclear when customers can expect power to return.
More than 150,000 customers across Westchester County are still without Tuesday due to Hurricane Sandy, Con Edison representatives said.
“This is the largest storm-related outage in our history,” said Con Edison Senior Vice President for Electric Operations John Miksad in a press release.
The National Weather Service has downgraded Sandy to a post-tropical cyclone, but the storm is still producing sustained winds up to 65 mph according to the NWS 5 a.m. update. A wind advisory is still in effect for Westchester County until 6 p.m. Tuesday. Weather officials said the brunt of the storm hit the area Monday night, but additional power outages could occur throughout Tuesday.

NEW CASTLE, N.Y. – The number of residents without power jumped dramatically in New Castle Monday night from more than 600 to 3,612.
Con Ed serves 4,894 customers in the area, according to Con Ed’s outage map. There is no estimate as of 9 p.m. for when people can expect power to return.

NEW CASTLE, N.Y. - Power outages throughout New Castle have been reported Monday by more than 500 Consolidated Edison customers.
Strong winds and rain from Hurricane Sandy has knocked out power to 529 of 6,574 customers in the area, according to Con Ed's outage map. The estimated restoration is 8 p.m. Monday night.
