Monday, April 30

Informal writing workshop: 7:30 p.m., Chappaqua Library. The Friends of the Chappaqua Library is sponsoring an informal writing workshop. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Tax Time : Property taxes are due on Monday. Any questions can directed to the tax assessor's office at (914) 238-4722.

Tuesday, May 1

New Castle Town Board work session : 7:45 p.m., New Castle Town Hall.

Chappaqua Central School District Board of Education meeting : 8:15 p.m., Horace Greeley High School.

Wednesday, May 2

Art Gala: 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Seven Bridges Middle School. The Chappaqua PTA is sponsoring the school's first annual art gala. The exhibition will feature the works of selected students from fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades.

Thursday, May 3

Thursday Night book discussion group : 7 p.m., Chappaqua Library. Susan Zangler will lead a discussion of "The Sense of an Ending" by Julian Barnes. Ask at the information desk for a copy of the book. The event is free and open to the public.

Lecture: Statue of Liberty : 7:30 p.m., Chappaqua Library. Kevin Woyce, photographer and author of regional history books, will explain how the statue was built and what she symbolizes. He will also discuss some of the people involved in her creation. The event is free and open to the public
