Cheryl Cho and Isabel Reich, two college freshmen and recent Horace Greeley High School graduates, are receiving a unique opportunity to help current Greeley upperclassmen prepare for the SAT's, as well as run their own business.
Cho and Reich are part of the Ivy Insiders program at Revolution Prep where they offer practice SAT's, a tips workshop and private and group tutoring sessions.
The duo is offering free practice tests June 26 at 1 p.m. and July 6 at 9 a.m., as well as a free SAT tips workshop June 30 at 7 p.m.
At the workshop, Cho and Reich provide students and parents individualized score reports completely free, without any obligations.
The Ivy Insiders program offers 18 hours of private or group SAT tutoring sessions as well.
At Greeley, Cho was part of Renaissance EMS, a program where students volunteer to go to the Bronx and tutor Bronx children. Reich was part of the program, as well as tutoring Latin and math while at Greeley and tutoring privately in high school.
"It's a great way to be home for the summer in our first summer home from college," said Reich, a sophomore Applied Math major at Columbia School of Engineering. "We get to make our own schedule, which is really nice."
These college freshmen hope to use their recent experience with the SAT to help younger students succeed at de facto this entrance exam.
"We understand what they're going through," said Cho, a sophomore Business major at Cornell. "We just went through it last year so we can really help them through the stress and anxiety."
