Team New Castle Congratulates Dems on Win

Nearly all of the votes have been tallied, and we congratulate Susan Carpenter, Elise Mottel, and Jason Chapin on their successful campaign in the town elections. They face difficult challenges, and we join our entire community in wishing them the best of luck and success as they embark on their important responsibilities.

We look forward to supporting their efforts to update the town’s master plan, to revitalize our hamlets, and to explore ways to expand our commercial tax base to alleviate pressures on residential taxpayers. We hope that they will seek a meaningful solution to the west end school tax inequity, and we hope that they will renew dialogue regarding the potential connection of the Millwood business hamlet to the county trunk line.

We extend our congratulations to Doug Kraus and David Zuckerman on their re-elections and look forward to continuation of their fine work on the bench.

At the same time, we would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to two town board members, Supervisor Barbara Gerrard and Mike Wolfensohn, who will be retiring at the end of their terms, for their years of service to the residents of New Castle.

We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to our families, friends and supporters who worked tirelessly and enthusiastically on our campaign. We could not have been able to sustain a campaign without your time and effort, your suggestions and insights, your energy, your generosity, and your spirited resilience.

Finally, we would like to thank the residents of New Castle for their interest and courtesies. It was an enriching experience, and it was a privilege to meet and reconnect with so many wonderful friends and neighbors.
