MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- College has turned out to be very fruitful for Larchmont resident Paul Thomas (aka PT) Prigoda.

It's where the 20-old musician has found inspiration for his songs. The Mamaroneck High School grad, now studying at Connecticut College in New London Conn., just released his second single off his upcoming EP,  "The Adventures of Sophomore Year."

His music, a combination of bubble gum pop with raps on top, is built around the themes of college (and high school) life.

"A lot of it happens to be about girls and love though," he admitted.

Still, there are serious songs such as "Infinity," about a break-up and how it can seem so different from both people’s perspectives and goofy songs such as "Doesn’t Know My Name," about a girl he has a huge crush on, but  -- you guessed it -- she doesn’t know his name. He also writes about going out and partying.

"I try to keep it clean for the most part, and make the choruses catchy," he said. "I usually tell a story in the verses and a broader idea in the chorus."

Prigoda, who started playing piano when he was four, began composing music when he was 10. He got into the production side at age 13 and has since learned drums, guitar and baritone saxophone. He is a proud former student of the Larchmont Music Academy where he said his teachers inspired him, most of all Logan Evan Thomas.

"I don’t think I would be taking music seriously if it weren’t for him," he said.

And though he's studying computer science at school, music remains his passion. His second EP releases Friday, June 16. And if you haven't guessed already, he records from his dorm/bedroom at home.

"It’s a pretty barebones setup but it gets the job done," he said.

Coming up next: "The Adventures of Junior Year," dropping sometime in 2018. Go to https://soundcloud.com/ptp7878 for more information.
